The future is already here — it's just not very evenly distributed.

William Gibson

We live in VUCA

The world is changing at the speed of light.
Old paradigms, challenges, and tools for solving them are no longer suited to a reality that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and multifaceted. It was written by military strategists and ultimately gained popularity in the business world over the last 20 years.

VUCA

VUCA, an acronym defined for military purposes (for the US Army), has gained popularity in the business world over the last 20 years. It has proven to be an excellent description of a world that is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous.
This is the contemporary business and social environment: dynamic changes, difficulties in predicting the future, links between the political, social and economic sectors, interdependencies and a lack of clear answers.

Forward-Thinking Business Practices

brittle
anxious
non-linear
incomprehensible
But describing the world using VUCA is no longer enough. The pandemic has shaken all foundations and previous frameworks for action, increasing chaos, anxiety and an extremely strong need to define oneself and the world in a new reality.
In 2020, Jamais Cascio coined the acronym BANI to help understand the effects of the pandemic and its impact on our psyche in a fragile, anxious, non-linear and generally incomprehensible world.

What do these changes mean

for teachers, politicians, entrepreneurs, and leaders in economic, political, scientific, and cultural life? How to navigate a world in which what was once unstable is no longer reliable, and what was once ambiguous seems completely incomprehensible. How to manage human resources when we ourselves are not only uncertain but downright anxious, because phenomena and processes are no longer just complicated but are subject to non-linear logical systems?
The Foundation for the Development of Education for Industry helps navigate a fragile ship through rough waters. It is impossible to change the direction of the wind, but it is possible to set the sails correctly. We can help with that.
